Mission:

To increase the high school graduation rate through providing services and resources to students, families, community partners and educational agencies.


Vision:

  • Students: Give all students the opportunity and necessary support to graduate from high school.
  • Community: Invest in community partnerships and collaborations which is essential for our nation’s workforce and economy.
  • Literacy: Expose students at early ages to math and literacy and provide them with the foundation for brain development and academic success.
  • Career/College Preparation: Give students the guidance and support to be ready for the workforce and/or college prior to graduation.

Guiding Principles:

The following principles guide SDPA’s efforts to expand educational opportunity for at risk students.


  • Relevant and Rigorous academic preparation is essential.
  • Students seeking  a college degree, that graduate from high school with deficiencies, should have access to remediation prior to his/her freshman year.
  • All students who seek a career pathway should have the opportunity to receive mentoring prior to graduation.
  • Research-based and effective evidenced based strategies should guide the process of dropout prevention.
